COMMON NAME:
Yellow-stalked Bolete

DESCRIPTION:
Chestnut brown to tan colored cap and golden yellow stalk.
FRUIT BODY:
Cap 1 1/2-5 1/8" (4-13cm) wide; surface dry. Pale brown, tan to chestnut brown in color. Stalk 2 3/4-4" (7-10cm) long, 3/4-1 1/4" (2-3cm) thick. Bulbous when young; golden yellow with yellow netting
FERTILE SURFACE:
Yellow pores non-staining when bruised.
FLESH:
Yellow flesh with no staining when bruised.

Not distinctive.
HABITAT & SEASON:
Found on ground under deciduous trees, especially oak and beech from June-November.
EDIBILITY / USES:
Edible and good. Dries well for future use.
