FUNGUS FEST

Fungus Fest, is NJMA's biggest in-person learning event. It is open to the general public and is held in September.

In 2023, the event returned to Frelinghuysen Arboretum.

Hundreds of people attend Fungus Fest. The event is held entirely indoors with the exception of an outdoor mushroom walk.  People come to get their fungi identified, to buy from the event vendors, to eat the results of the mushroom cooking demonstration, or to learn about medicinal mushrooms, poisonous mushrooms, paper making and mushroom dyes.  At  the indoor children's corner there are activities such as making a bracelet or putting together a wood mushroom jigsaw puzzle.
