Another successful FUNGUS Fest!

NJMA's Fungus Fest 2023 was finally held after a 3 year hiatus! So what happens when it rains for the first time ever on the day of our big event? More people come! There was less fungi brought in then normal, only 103 species. But everything went very smoothly even though a number of volunteers were unable to come. Both the culinary tasting events and cultivation demonstrations were standing room only!

NJMA offers its thanks to:

Morris County Park System for allowing us to book this event in early 2023 when the facility was still not normally open on Sundays. Everyone should come back and enjoy wonderful gardens at Frelinghuysen Arboretum and the programs they offer for children.
Friends of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum for allowing us the use of their culinary demonstration table and equipment.
Phillips Mushroom Farms for their generous donation of mushrooms growing displays and mushrooms for the culinary tastings. Their mushroom information giveaways will get more of the public interested in cooking and eating mushrooms.
Our 2023 vendors Mainly Mushrooms, Smiling Earth Mushrooms, The Nature of Reading Bookshop, Noble Mushrooms. We only wish that we could physically accommodate more vendors for the public.
